Uniform Idea

Okay, so because I keep being stupid and forgetting the catalog in my locker, I decided to surf the web and find an outfit similar to the one we had picked out for the "guy". Turns out, I found this awesome website that has better uniforms then the catalog had! Yey! And I found basically the same outfit that we picked out only in a different color and using different materials.

"Guy"

Our Original Idea:
http://www.algyteam.com/merchant.mv?Screen=PROD&Product_Code=H-SPAK-TPS&Category_Code=GUAR&Store_Code=algyteam&Offset=18&Product_Offset=20

We liked how the jumpsuit in this one still showed feminine curves, but could still be identified as the more masculine of the performers.

(from here it's just me playing around)

Other Idea:
http://www.algyteam.com/merchant.mv?Screen=PROD&Product_Code=H-RITZ-B&Category_Code=GUAR&Store_Code=algyteam&Offset=36&Product_Offset=41

I really like this one... I think it's kind of creative.

"Girl"

Idea #1:
http://www.algyteam.com/merchant.mv?Screen=PROD&Product_Code=H-GLID&Category_Code=GUAR&Store_Code=algyteam&Offset=0&Product_Offset=7

I like the top on this one, but not the bottoms. The lace up the arm is kinda cool.

Idea #2:
http://www.algyteam.com/merchant.mv?Screen=PROD&Product_Code=H-ENCL&Category_Code=GUAR&Store_Code=algyteam&Offset=0&Product_Offset=13

I like the skirt of this one and the bodice, but the sleeves need work.

Those are just some random ideas for costumes. I browse whenever I'm bored, so if I find any more worth mentioning, I'll let you know.
Oh, and here's a link to the website itself:

Let me know what you find!
Peace, Love, and Smores,
Taylor

PS: Don't forget that our color scheme is black, white, and purple if you start looking for flags, other costumes, etc.

class info and dates with Chad

Hi ladies!

Here is the info and dates for Chad. Please talk with your parents and decide who and what dates work best. At this point, we need to include some of the other flags that are thinking of doing this. If we have 4 people, the cost would be $75.00 each. In all actuality, that is a great deal for the number of lessons and time involved. Please let me know by Monday what you think.

Mrs. "P"

Here are all of the dates we are open and will be in the Northwest Ohio Area:

June 15th - Afternoon/Evening
June 18th - Afternoon/Evening
June 19th - All Day
June 20th - All Day
June 21st - All Day
June 26th - All Day
June 28th - All Day
July 2nd - Afternoon/Evening
July 3rd - Morning
July 9th - Afternoon/Evening
July 17th - All Day
July 23rd - Afternoon/Evening
July 24th - All Day

That's all we have. My suggestion would be that we pick out 4 different days and do a 3 hour session on each day. This would give them a deeper base in technique. We will be able to work with their growth throughout the sessions.

Since I know you guys are broke and self funding for everything we would be willing to do all 4 of these days for $300 total (don't spread that around, we would go broke if that is all we charged for our services).

The girls need to think of it like this. The would get a total of 12 hours of training. That is like 3 months of dance classes. Three months of dance classes would cost $135 per person. This is cheaper than taking than that!!!!

Let me know what you think?

more info

OK, I am still trying to figure out how the last post ended without me:)

Chad and his wife have 2 trainings coming up this summer.

Findly on June 27
Swanton on July 18

I have also asked his open dates for just us. When he gets back with me, I will post them and we can decide what dates will be better to train as a group. If you want one on one, please feel free to contact him individually.

Taylor, don't forget to get me a copy of the uniforms you want so that I can be looking into them. If possible, I would love to get a copy of the flags you found also to see what I can do about duplicating them.

I plan to order the poles and practice flags this week along with a bag to take them to shows with us. I will keep you posted on the progress!

See ya,

Mrs. Pace

equipment and training info

Hey ladies,

I have been in touch with Chad and am looking into his answers: Here were my questions and his replys:

Best kind of pole to get. Plastic, fiberglass, etc.
Metal, most every Catalog carries 6' poles.

Do they need to be double weighted
Not Really, just a weight on the Silk end should be enough.

how big are the flags for the 6’ pole
36" x 54" is typical. The Flag should be half the width of the pole.

best material for the flags and practice flags
Poly China Silk. A good place to buy raw fabric is the Band Hall.

what kind of rifle do they need
A good choice is an Elite Rifle. I would suggest 36" length. Also in most catalogs.

I did not see classes on the OIPA website, will you be having them
OIPA will have a clinic in December.

Can you personally work with the girls this summer in June to learn new techniques in flag, rifle and movement
Would love to, we may want to start throwing around dates, our summer is almost full. In addition Liz and I will be hosting to clinics this summer in Northwest Ohio. I have attached a flyer on this.

Brandi Phillips

Hey there my name is Brandi and I was the 2008-2009 winterguard capitan; yet that could not all have been possible with the help of Taylor and Clare, my left and right hands. I probaby will not post anymore because in 5 days I am graduating and are therefore leaving my capitan-ship to...Clare..and Taylor as her co-capitain (basically there are 2 capitans for next year). My hope for the team is that they will go very far in OIPA, learn, love, laugh, and to take home that trophy this year. I will help in as many ways possible, yet I do eventually need to let go and say goodbye. Winterguard this year was one of the most rewarding things I have ever done, we learned a lot about each other and in the end became our own little family, if even one person was missing we felt un-whole, like a peice was missing from the paws rewind family. I know they will go very very very far in the 2009-2010 season, with proper support, financing, and a place to practice they will sucseed. They all know I love them, and that is all can do as a capitan.

*make sure you get extra uniforms, remember the 2nd compitition where i forgot my leggings -_- epic failure I know*

Post Number... One.

Hey everyone! Welcome to the Paws Rewind blog!
Feel free to click around, add a post, comment on this one, or do whatever you want.
If you have any questions please either comment or email me. I'll do my best to answer them. (but really, it isn't that complicated)

Peace, love, and s'mores to all!
Taylor
