every year, memebers of the OIPA circuit must perform in at least 3 shows to perform in championships. here is the list of the dates and locations of our possible shows to go to and then the date set for championships:
january 15th at wapakoneta
januarry 22 at columbus
january 23rd at powell
february 6th at dayton
*** february 13th at springfield high school. this is our home show, and we must attend.
march 12th and 13th in findlay
*** CHAMPIONSHIPS are on march 18th and 19th
im thinking we do january 15th, february 13th, march 12 and/or13th and the 18/19

2011 season
wow.
its here already.
getting ready for paws rewind 2011! i cant believe that this is going to be our third year! its pretty amazing.
just a few things to start,
we are going to start having "try outs" starting monday, october 4th.
now what i mean by try outs is that if you decide to come, you will be trying the activity out. coming to these practices does not mean that you have officially made your commitment, it simply means that you are holding an interest. we will work with you on flag and rifle basics, i dont think that sabres will be used in our show this year. i will be teaching technique and the how tos.
the way that winterguard goes is we stretch for the first fifteen minutes to a half hour, depending on how early we start a practice. they will be after school on mondays once a week through october, then when we move into november, we will start having practices on mondays and thursdays, and when we hit december and the rest of the season *through march* practices will be mondays, tuesdays and thursdays. practices usually run from right after school to 5:30 *remember, we usually dont start til 3/3:30 due to travel and the need for food.
we will warm up with a short basics block and then begin learning work and drill.
what is different from marching season is that we only focus on one song all season. this year our show is going to be a 20s flapper theme and to a song called sing sing sing. its gonna be cute and fun to perform. the cut i have is 4 minutes long.
we will probably learn just work up until winter break and then add drill to it when we get back. our first show will be sometime in the end of january, the dates will be posted later when i have them for sure.
for those who are worried about the complicatedness of the work, dont worry. we will work on a section until it is clean. if for some reason, you all are still having issues with a part, well simply change it. its not uncommon. the show will be altered right up until championships. last year our flag line came in third place in the state. when i looked at the recap, we had the most complicated work of our class and the highest achievement level. what really killed us was the fact that we only had 6 girls and didnt have any big general effect moments. if we can get at least 10 girls, we will be rockin! i have no doubts.
winterguard is a lot of fun and some pretty crazy times and i really hope that all of you consider it. its nothing to be afraid of, but also must be taken seriously at the right times. we are all sisters and that is what makes us strong.

after our second season
hey girls, i just wanted to post *though after the fact, cuz we all forget this blog exists* that im really proud of your performance this season!
there were a lot of things we could have improved on, but coming third in state? thats pretty sweet! and i mean, common, gimp, i know you saw that one show, my own worst enemy? we felt just fine coming behind them lol
but the five of you really outdid yourselfs and im sad that the season is over. i dont know about you guys, but im pretty bored out of my feaking mind! lol
so with one more season behind us, early as it is, it is time to start looking ahead. .
though we did not get formally promoted, *and no, it was not to work with our loophole so i could spin with both groups* -sidenote, to be fomally promoted, it is totally up to the judges and how they feel about a group's performance and if they feel like they are ready to step it up to the next level, but that does not mean that we cannot compete in the IRA class next season, so, lets go!
ok, order one of busness, rifles.
i want to see tripples when i come home. .

holland (springfeild) show
so yesterdays show was pretty sweet! im proud of you guys for coming in second and now we just have to do some major cleaning to start trump :)

FIRST SHOW!
Hey guys!
i really dont know who follows this, if anyone at all, but i think im gonna start putting things up here just cause..
so an update on life in guard, chirstmas has come! we have super cool purple silks, and our uniforms are gonna be done here pretty soon and there is this really super awesome sause material that mama pace brought to practice for potential use *in what, you shall see hehehe* so ya!
the girls *yall* are doin super sweet and i want yall to know that! we are going to kick some butt this year yo! ps, 10 more hours, 10 more days, 5 more practices, and we are out on the floor! lets show ron smith whose boss!!!! ^_^
so, idk what else im suposed to put up here, but our shows are going to be on feb. 7th, 14, march 6th, and championships on march 20th.. so, if anyone ever wants to know where a show is, lemme know, i think our first one is in middletown? yeah, and they're all in ohio. our home show is going to be at springfield *holland* on feb 14th, and its gonna be sweet. that show is going to be pretty active for us. ashley and i are both performing solos, paws rewind is performing, and phoenix ira will be there, so be ready for a pretty packed day of awesomenessness!!!!
